Support
Donations
The fund’s DKK 18.4M capital is made up of donations from some of Denmark’s most influential robotics investors and companies as well as prominent commercial foundations behind some of the country’s largest industrial companies.
Several founders have played a key role in putting Denmark’s robotics industry on the world map. And for them, the new fund is about realising the industry’s potential. By donating capital from their successful careers to the new fund, the founders can help generations of robotics and drone startups.
Odense Robotics StartUp Fund has a total capital of
DKK 18.4M consisting of donations from the following:
“
“It’s about giving robotics entrepreneurs better access to loan capital, professional support and good facilities. By joining forces with other strong players, I hope to make a difference for generations of robotic startups in the future.”
Bente Iversen
Investor
“
“I have donated to Odense Robotics StartUp Fund because I want to contribute towards the continued growth of the robotics environment in Odense and Denmark. The robotics community here has given us me such, so I want to give something back.”
Enrico Krog Iversen
CEO of OnRobot
“
“Odense is known for being one of the best places to develop and invent new robots. To support even more growth, myself and other people, companies and foundations from the ecosystem are leading the way by providing donations to the fund.”
Helge Munk
Investor
“
“My biggest motivation for donating to the fund is the lack of support I experienced myself when I started my first robot company 30 years ago. Now I have the chance to help others avoid mistakes and pitfalls. It makes a huge difference to be part of an environment that can support your startup in the early days.”
Niels Jul Jacobsen
CEO of Capra Robotics
“
“I find it hugely rewarding to be able to pass on my knowledge of running an automation company to startups. Many startups are looking for help regarding business development and operations. Startups can access this knowledge through the Fund and give their company an important boost.”
Ralf Astrup
Investor
“
“We have decided to support the creation of this new fund because many promising startups within robotics and automation need better access to capital and professional mentoring. These are often crucial if startups are to realise an idea”
Dorthe Lund Kaack, CEO
C.C.N. Holding A/S
“
“We are contributing to the fund because it strengthens the competences and knowledge within robotics and automation, which are important areas for the southern part of Denmark where there is a strong centre for automation already. This will enable us to build on the strong relations within robotics between Odense and Sønderborg.”
Per Egebæk Have, Chairman
Bitten & Mads Clausen’s Foundation
“
“Green transition is a key focus area for Marius Pedersen and we believe that robotics can play a key role in making this happen. We are supporting the fund to gain more insight into this potential and to support regional development.”
Uffe Tønning Hansen, chairman
Entreprenør Marius Pedersens Fond
“
“Innovation within robotics is extremely important for product development, effective production, new treatments as well as for the green transition in society in general. We are delighted to support the further strengthening of the robotics ecosystem in Denmark.”
Mikkel Skovborg, Senior Vice President
Novo Nordisk Foundation
“
“One of our main goals is to support industry and trade, especially startups. We are supporting the fund because we want to help strengthen Odense’s leading position within robotics technology.”
Bo Andersen, board member
Den Faberske Fond
“
“Robotics technology is central for the future of the production industry. We want to contribute towards the good ideas going from the lab to the factory floor as quickly as possible. We see the fund as a fantastic way to further strenghten both the robotics cluster around Odense and its commercial impact on Danish and international industry.”
Kim Nøhr Skibsted, CEO
The Grundfos Foundation
“
“Access to capital and mentoring for startups is crucial for the development of Denmark’s robotics industry – and that’s why I am contributing to Odense Robotics StartUp Fund. Together with the other strong players from the ecosystem, I believe that we can make a difference for many startups and realise a huge potential. I know just how much it means to have funding and facilities in place, so you can get your business off to a good start.”
Thomas Visti
CEO and Founder of Visti Unlimited
“
“For us, it’s about giving back to the community we come from. We have a truly unique robotics cluster here in Odense with a world-class university, enormous support from the municipality and local ecosystem, and hundreds of robotic companies of various sizes spanning a huge range of expertise. But we’re not done yet with making Odense the world’s best robot city. There’s still lots of potential waiting to be realised. That’s why we are contributing to Odense Robotics StartUp Fund – so we can support future startups, not just financially but also through dialogue and mentoring,”
Kim Povlsen, President
Universal Robots A/S
